Upgraded to the iPhone Air yesterday as my previous plan came to an end, after having the iPhone 15 for three years this feels like such a massive upgrade, the form factor is sublime and such a pleasure to hold, the screen is so smooth and vivid, the only downside so far is the speaker, but I don’t use it that often so can live with it.

The ZuPick verdict
The iPhone Air gets the basics of a premium phone right with strong speed, a bright smooth display and a very slim build. Its trade-off is clear: you are paying flagship money while giving up camera versatility and faster charging that many rivals include.

Pros & cons
It scores about 2.07 million on AnTuTu, which is comfortably flagship-level for demanding apps, fast editing and high-end gaming. NVMe storage also helps installs, transfers and app launches feel quick.
The 120 Hz OLED panel feels fluid in daily use, and peak brightness of 3000 nits helps outdoors. The 1260x2736 screen is also sharp enough for reading, streaming and photo viewing.
At 165 grams and 5.64 mm, it is unusually slim and light for a phone at this level. IP68 protection adds peace of mind for everyday use.
You get 20W wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging, which is still expected and useful in this class. That makes desk and bedside charging more convenient.
The camera system tops out at 2x optical zoom, while many rivals here offer 3x, 5x or periscope reach. If you shoot people, events or travel scenes often, this is a clear compromise.
At this price, an ultrawide lens is normally standard. Its absence limits landscape, architecture and group-shot flexibility more than buyers should accept above ₹1 lakh.
20W charging is slow for this class, especially when several rivals refill much faster. It is fine for overnight use, but less convenient when you need a quick top-up.
What owners say
From RedditI care very much about the feel of a phone, the weight and the design. Having owned every pro model since the 12 pro max, I just couldn’t get on board with the design and feel of my orange 17 pro max. I decided to switch to a phone that I felt would represent what I feel an iPhone should be. Stylish, elegant and classy!
I went into the Apple Store to buy a 17 and, after picking them all up, walked out with an Air. The form factor and screen just won out for me. I had a 12 Pro so everything still feels like a substantive step up.
If you are heavy duty user and want to have more control on camera for content then it’s not the right phone for you, as a user of the iphone air I really appreciate the fact of having a thin and light phone with 6.5inch display and the powerful a19pro I couldn’t be more pleased, and the 48mp camera is more than enough for me
I’m done with this phone. The camera is awful when you need to use for anything other then a regular snap (macro, zoom, etc) the battery is = to when i had my 15 pro, the thing overheated the other day when i was trying to video my son (while my wife’s 17 pro had no issue).
That’s the same effect the air had on me. Picking up my wife’s 15 Pro Max after using an Air for a year is such a crazy difference.
I’m not the guy you were replying to but I switched from a 13 pro with 70% battery to an Air and the battery is way better. I use my phone a fair amount but never have to worry about it dying. I just charge it every night.
Totally agreed! I did replace the battery on my 13 pro via care but still, battery on air has far exceeded my expectations. It easily lasts all day and if I know I’m going to be taking a ton of pictures and mapping transit all day I just bring my Anker MagSafe pack
I had the 13 Pro Max and had the exact same battery health. I just switched yesterday and have been loving it so far. I’ve had no issue with the battery, honestly been pleasantly surprised because I heard the battery was supposed to be trash
The iPhone Air is the epitome of what I expected from Apple in current times. As someone who admires futuristic and thin tech, I really believe Apple has the iPhone Air’s design down to a science. I have yet to grow tired or bored of this phone and the way it feels is unmatched by any other device.
