While I find Flagship androids great devices, I still needed an iphone to work seamlessly with my Macbook, ipad and Watch. I couldn't justify spending 75k on an iPhone 17 I'll carry everywhere and risk damaging.

The ZuPick verdict
The iPhone 17e gets the essentials right with strong speed, a compact premium build and dependable day-to-day use. Its compromise is clear: for this money, the 60 Hz display, slow charging and limited rear camera setup are hard to ignore.

Pros & cons
It scores about 2.11 million on AnTuTu, which is comfortably flagship-level. Apps open quickly, gaming is smooth, and the NVMe storage helps with fast installs and loading.
Apple typically keeps iPhones current for a long time, and the hardware here is strong enough to stay fast for years. This suits buyers who keep a phone well beyond a normal upgrade cycle.
The 6.1-inch size and 170 gram body are easier to handle than most flagships. You still get IP68 water resistance, glass build quality, stereo speakers and wireless charging.
The 48 MP main camera with optical stabilisation should deliver dependable photos and steady video. 4K 60 fps on both rear and front cameras is a real plus for everyday shooting.
At ₹82,900, a 60 Hz screen is a major compromise. Rivals here usually offer 120 Hz, which makes scrolling, animations and gaming look much smoother.
There is no ultrawide camera, and the 2x optical zoom is limited next to phones in this range that offer dedicated telephoto and stronger zoom reach. Camera flexibility is clearly behind the class.
20W charging is modest for this money. It is fine for overnight top-ups, but buyers spending this much can get much faster charging elsewhere.

From RedditUpgradedfrom 12 to 17 and i have 15 as well in my home , mann when i use 15 it feels so sluggish after using 120hz on 17 . Would suggest if you can go with regular 17 go with itjust for 120 hz and much better outdoor peak brightness , otherwise i would pick 16 , but since design is your pref if you want you can go with 17e as well apart from 16 but try for regular 17.
All that iPhone @512gb for 799, i don’t need Dynamic Island, 120hz on a phone which I had on the 15pro and 17pro prior, or camera control for 799 @ 256gb or 1099 @ 256gb when all that the 17e offers suffices me 🤡 I don’t want to be marvelling at a smartphone/tool that’s supposed to just get the job done which I could depend on; I have other things in life I cherish more than a phone and looking at it and fyi this 17e is gorgeous.
You’d be better off looking for a standard 17 honestly I have a 17e and I love mine, but I bought it essentially because I don’t care about bezels, I wanted a small phone and I prefer 60hz to 120hz
iPhone 17e is like the peak smartphone for casual users. It looks so fucking clean and minimalist. Idc about the notch and 60hz. iPhones are smooth anyway, and honestly the notch even adds a bit of character to the phone.
Everyone tells me the iPhone 17e’s camera is terrible, yet it’s supposed to be better than the iPhone 8’s camera—and I took stunning photos with the iPhone 8. The uploaded photo was taken with an iPhone 8.
I have a 17e also, love it, but whenever I switch back to my iPhone 17pro I really notice the differences. If you’ve never had a 17pro then the 17e is a great phone! If you’re used to Pro iPhones you’re going to feel the limitations in heavy app usage and filming/photography.
Will be upgrading my work phone at the end of the year and was hoping to get the 17e as they currently offer the 16e…. Having no MagSafe was the one thing putting me off so glad that’s been added!
