correct. I have a Samsung S22, going to get the iPhone 17 base model since there are things about the S22 that give me a deep hatred for it, but it came out in early 2022, cost less than $900, and has a 120hz screen. Sad that Apple gate-keeps basic tech, slaps a name on it, markets the crap out of it, then peddles it to the poor. But like I said, I'm getting the 17, sick of half-baked features on Androids.

The ZuPick verdict
The iPhone 17 gets a lot right: strong performance, a bright 120 Hz display, fast charging and premium build quality. Its main compromise is camera versatility, because buyers spending this much can get better optical zoom elsewhere.

Pros & cons
The 6.3-inch OLED panel is sharp and smooth, and 120 Hz scrolling makes the phone feel properly premium. Peak brightness of 3000 nits also helps a lot outdoors.
It scores about 2.25 million on AnTuTu, which is comfortably flagship-level. Apps open quickly, gaming is smooth, and NVMe storage keeps installs and file handling fast.
40W wired charging and 30W wireless charging are both useful upgrades for daily convenience. A 20 to 100 percent time of 1 hour 11 minutes is solid for this class.
Apple phones are usually bought to keep for years, and the hardware here is strong enough to stay fast for a long time. That makes it a safer premium buy than phones with shorter support.
The aluminium-and-glass body feels compact and refined for a flagship, and IP68 water resistance adds peace of mind for long-term use.
That is the clearest compromise here. At this price, a dedicated zoom camera is expected, and rivals with 3x or 5x optical zoom are much more flexible for portraits and distant subjects.
The screen is very good, but this price range also includes phones with LTPO panels and sharper QHD+ displays. This one looks premium without leading the field.
Battery life should still be comfortable for most people, but this is not one of the endurance-focused flagships. Buyers who travel a lot may prefer larger-battery rivals.

From RedditIt’s a new design so ofc it will get its fair share of hate. But as usual its gonna sell well, probably more than last year. Slowly the design will settle into people’s mind as Apple keeps on using it and people keep seeing it more in real life. As for the base iPhone, it’s fantastic. Gonna upgrade to it from my 13 next year.
With the 17's launch, iPhone 17 has seen the best upgrades, Very Few General Use people are going to consider the PRO models, unless they are 3-camera flexers or something and need that only.
I used Samsung ecosystem for like 15 years, bought an iPad Air 13 (2025 model) and then switched to iPhone 17 like a month ago from galaxy s22 - you need to get used to the differences (no universal back button, no number row above the keyboard, the settings are a bit tricky for me too) and I had to google stuff so many times 😂 but honestly I can’t imagine going back to android. Once you get the hang of it - it’s great
I just switched from a Samsung S25 to the base iPhone 17. Only reason I switched was because the company I work for requires us to have a secure device such as iPhone. So far very happy and impressed with it. Cameras are great, speakers are awesome and the 120hz display is a game changer. Only things I do not like is the ui (glass look) and wireless Apple CarPlay is soooooo slow and delayed compared to Wireless Android Auto
iPhone 17, Galaxy S24+,and Pixel 10a. I spend most of my time on S24+, but I’m selling it. iPhone 17 is very good, I just don’t like its restrictive nature, but it does everything well, often good. As I write this we’re in the middle of a powerful storm here in South Texas with no power or internet. Relying on my carrier’s network. Pixel 10a lost the struggle to stay on network inside my apartment, S24+ struggled a bit, but iPhone 17 has been great.
The 15 does feel dated especially with those bezels and 60hz. I upgraded to the 17 from my 13, it truly is a far superior modern product.
I got a fair deal man. Got 28k exchange value for my iPhone 13 which was bought for 42k in 2023. The exchange rates of iPhones are great.
