The ZuPick verdict

3.1out of 5
ConsiderBest at display, weakest at battery.

The Galaxy M36 5G is a balanced phone with a good display, practical extras and excellent long-term software support. It makes the most sense for buyers who want reliability and features over outright speed, because battery and performance are only mid-pack for the money.

Based on specs, expert reviews and owner discussions.
Performance2.9
It scores about 597,000 on AnTuTu, which is below the middle of what this price buys. Day-to-day tasks, social apps and multitasking are handled well enough, but demanding games are better played at lower settings.
Camera2.8
The 50 MP main camera with OIS is the highlight here, helping with cleaner handheld shots and steadier video. 4K at 30 fps is useful, but the rest of the camera package is more ordinary than impressive for this budget.
Display3.8
The Super AMOLED panel is a clear plus, and 120 Hz keeps the phone feeling smooth in daily use. With 1080x2340 resolution and 1000 nits brightness, it looks sharp and stays reasonably readable outdoors, though it does not push ahead of the best displays in this range.
Battery2.5
The 5000 mAh battery is acceptable for a full day of regular use, but it is not a standout in a market full of bigger batteries and faster charging. 25W charging and tested battery life of 8h 43m leave it behind stronger endurance-focused options.
Value3.6
At ₹22949, the Galaxy M36 5G gets several things right: a good AMOLED screen, OIS on the main camera, NFC and unusually long software support. The value is solid overall, though the slower charging and modest performance stop it from feeling like a clear bargain.

Pros & cons

What’s good
Strong software support

Samsung promises 6 years of OS and security updates, which is rare at this price. That makes it a safer long-term buy than many rivals that age out much sooner.

Good AMOLED display

The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel gives you deep blacks and better contrast than LCD rivals. 120 Hz keeps scrolling and app navigation smooth, and 1000 nits helps outdoors.

Reliable main camera

The 50 MP main camera has OIS, which helps with steadier low-light shots and smoother handheld video. 4K recording adds flexibility if you shoot travel clips or family videos.

Useful everyday extras

NFC, Wi-Fi 6, Gorilla Glass Victus Plus and expandable storage add practical value. These are the kind of features that improve daily use and are not guaranteed in this range.

What’s not
Weak charging speed

25W charging is slow for this segment, where many alternatives refill much faster. A full top-up takes long enough to feel dated if you are often in a hurry.

Below-average raw performance

It scores about 597,000 on AnTuTu, which sits below the middle of what this budget can buy. Everyday use should stay smooth, but heavier games need reduced settings.

Battery life trails rivals

The 5000 mAh battery is fine on paper, but the tested endurance is not a standout. It should get through a day, though stronger battery phones are easy to find at this price.

I chose M36 even if all the research I did on it showed it as a bad VFM phone specifically because of the fact that all other phones available in the segment were Chinese and I was scared of loosing support in another conflict, I knew it was a bad phone but I thought it was people just nitpicking over specifics of the phones and I would receive the same quality I did with the M21, M31 and M14 I had in my house, I was dead wrong.

Within days of getting the phone from hell I started experiencing latent overheating as if it's processors were being roasted in the furnaces of Satan himself. It would overheat while doing the most basic stuff like scrolling or even sitting simply. Not only that it has a monstrous battery drain issue as if the very worms of Tartarus was feasting on its flesh.

I too returned it back in 3 days , I had used M34 , M35 they never had battery drain issue like this one. The only pro was the display , rest M36 is a downgrade.
