The ZuPick verdict
The POCO M7 5G gets the basics right with good everyday speed, 5G support, dependable battery life and aggressive pricing. Its main compromise is the HD+ display, which holds it back against stronger all-rounders in this range.

Pros & cons
It scores about 437,000 on AnTuTu, which is solid for this price. Daily apps, calling, streaming and light gaming should feel smooth, especially with 6 GB or 8 GB RAM.
The 120 Hz screen makes scrolling and app navigation feel more fluid than basic 60 Hz phones. It is a nice upgrade for social media and general use.
The 5160 mAh battery and tested battery life of 14h 27m are good for a full day of regular use. Most users should comfortably get through work, classes and entertainment.
UFS 2.2 storage helps apps install and open faster than older storage types. That makes the phone feel snappier in day-to-day use.
At this price, getting 5G with usable performance and 128 GB storage is a clear advantage. It works well as a budget-friendly step into newer networks.
The 720x1640 screen is noticeably less sharp than Full HD rivals in this range. Text and video look acceptable, but not as crisp as better displays around this price.
18W charging is on the slower side for this segment. A top-up takes longer than many alternatives, especially for heavier users.
The 50 MP main camera should do fine in daylight, but video is limited to 1080p at 30 fps and low-light results will be more ordinary. This is more of a casual camera than a standout one.
What owners say
From RedditMy mom’s one month old POCO M7 5G suddenly started flickering with horizontal lines all over the screen. Touch works fine but the display looks glitched. I tried rebooting but the flickering is there even during startup. No drops or water damage.
Ordered the POCO M7 5G during Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale, using a Flipkart Axis Bank credit card for full payment (NOT EMI). Received it yesterday. Now when I'm trying to setup the phone it shows the error message: "There has been a network error or general error with the device financing process.
Yo, I think the update servers just had a stroke. I was sitting on HyperOS 1.0 (Android 14) and finally decided to check for updates. Saw HyperOS 2.0 was available. I downloaded it, played one round of a Roblox game to see if it felt any different, and when I went back to settings HyperOS 3.0 was just there.
I use a Poco M7 5G(Indian variant), currently running HyperOS 2 (2.0.203.0). It recently got the Android 15 update (just yesterday). Today it shows this update is available, should I download and install this HyperOS 3 version? I also have a Poco M7 Pro 5G (Indian variant), it's running on HyperOS 2 (2.0.208.0).
