I have a M4 pro 5g since January. I'm happy with it. I just find two downsides on it: I hate 18:9 screen format (but nobody seems to make 6"-7" 16:9 smartphones anymore), and it lacks call recording. Other than that, it's great.

The ZuPick verdict
The POCO M4 Pro 5G covers everyday essentials with a sharp screen, reliable battery, 5G and expandable storage. Its dim LCD, modest performance, basic video recording and lean entry configuration make it difficult to recommend at ₹17,999.

Pros & cons
The 1080x2400 display keeps text, videos and webpages crisp. Its 90 Hz refresh rate also makes scrolling smoother than a basic 60 Hz screen.
The 5000 mAh battery comfortably handles a full day of regular use. The 33 W charging can refill it in around 60 minutes.
5G, UFS 2.2 storage, a headphone jack and storage expansion up to 1 TB cover practical daily needs. IP53 protection adds some reassurance against dust and splashes.
The entry configuration has just 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, which feels lean at this price. Its performance and display also trail better-balanced alternatives.
Peak brightness of 450 nits can make the screen difficult to read in strong sunlight. The LCD panel also lacks the rich blacks and contrast of an AMOLED display.
Rear video stops at 1080p and 30 fps, offering limited detail and smoothness. Buyers interested in recording frequently can find stronger options around this price.
What owners say
From RedditGood and fast enough. Sound is not so impressive and need to get used to it (2 speakers which one is louder). Also camera is less than poco F1
Poco m4 pro 5g depending on if you wont play games like genshin impact. Poco m3 pro if your on a very tight budget. If lets say you want to play high graphics games then i would say poco x3 pro in which i can get it for 60 dollars more on the same 8gb256. These are all if you really need the headphone jack
Poco m4 pro 5g for gaming(and 5g). Redmi note 11 for the camera and amoled display plus dolby atmos. Honestly theyre so different phones that im confused how you have a rough choice
This is the worst phone I've used to date. For reference, my past phones were all Samsung Galaxy phones which hold up really well even now. I'm incredibly unhappy with this phone, and given the amount of research I put into finding a reasonable affordable phone, I was very surprised by how badly this phone performs despite its glowing reviews.
The lag on the phone is crippling. Multitasking between apps is impossible because the performance takes a hard hit. Automatic app closing. When I try and multitask and use something like spotify + google maps + chrome the phone will automatically close apps in the background, likely to "conserve memory".
CAMERA Lag. This is the most horrendus camera I've seen on a phone to date. The camera causes the phone to lag more than any other app I've used. The app will take up to 5-10 seconds to load (sorry, did you want to snag that priceless moment? It's passed).
The worst phone ever. I totally regret of buying it 🤪
Same issue here bought this phone last week. I returned it.
I have the exact same issue happening with my GPS, and indeed it feels as if the phone overheats. Any ideas / updates about whether these are software issues (leading to overheating), or other approaches to solve this?
