Battery is surprisingly good. Im getting 7-8 hours SOT daily from 100 to 30 usage. Can easily last 11-12 hours on full charge. Charging speed is a pain though, 1.5 to 2 hours for 30 to 100%.

The ZuPick verdict
The Pixel 8a gets several important things right: a bright OLED display, dependable cameras, wireless charging and unusually long software support. Against other phones between ₹30,000 and ₹40,000, though, its slower charging, smaller battery and only mid-pack performance make it harder to recommend on pure hardware value.

Pros & cons
The 64 MP main camera has optical stabilisation, which helps with steadier low-light shots and cleaner everyday photos. A 13 MP ultrawide also makes the camera setup more versatile than single-camera rivals.
The 120 Hz OLED panel feels fluid in daily use, and peak brightness of 2000 nits helps outdoors. It is a compact 6.1-inch screen too, which many buyers will find easier to handle one-handed.
Google promises 7 years of Android and security updates. That makes it a safer long-term buy than most phones in this price range.
7.5W wireless charging is still uncommon enough at this price to matter. It adds convenience for desk and bedside charging, even if wired charging is much slower than class leaders.
18W charging is far behind what many rivals offer in this range. A full top-up takes well over an hour, which feels dated for a phone above ₹30,000.
The 4492 mAh battery is below the level many competitors now offer. It can get through a day, but it does not have the easy endurance advantage that bigger-battery rivals do.
You get a good main camera and a useful ultrawide, but no dedicated zoom lens. That limits portrait reach and cleaner long-distance shots compared with the best camera-focused alternatives.
What owners say
From RedditPhone runs on 5G all the time. I keep smooth display off. Initially for the first two weeks my SOT was barely 4-5 hours, now the battery has optimized quite well idk how
How tf are you getting that battery life. Can you give us your settings like do you use 5g or smooth display.
I got 8a last month , i have a very similar experience, phone was heating up during setup but never faced it much afterwards. I'd like to add that the haptic feedback is so good
My friend have a pixel 8a. Uske gaon ka ghr thoda andr h shehar se toh uske ghr m phone constantly 5g and 4g m switch krta h aur battery bhul jldi utr jati h. Jbki uska old phone normal 5g p chlta h.
Pixel phones overheat, connectivity issues. The camera is good. I've worked for Pixels and these were the most common issues reported.
I've been using my 8a now since it was released. Everyone on here was telling me how I shouldn't have bought it because it was a budget model. But it's easily my favorite phone that I've ever had.
It's had rocks fall on it, big concrete hammer drills fall on it, it's fallen off the back of a concrete truck, and yet there is literally no visible damage to the phone at all.
It has been a week since I got my new Pixel 8a and honestly my experience so far has been terrible, in all these years having smartphones I never had such a bad first week
My brand new pixel 8a has been freezing and crashing every night. Fortunately it seems fine during the day. Everything is totally up to date. I’ve factory reset multiple times and it factory reset itself.
