Cheers, that's roughly where I landed after reading around. Ordered the Oppo Reno16 5G on Friday and it turned up Saturday, so only a few days in, but the battery problem is already gone. Off the charger at seven yesterday, a load of photos on a walk plus the usual scrolling, and it still had plenty in it at bedtime.

The ZuPick verdict
The Oppo Reno16 5G stands out for battery life, charging convenience, compact size and a well-rounded camera setup. The trade-off is that its performance is closer to a strong upper-midrange phone than a true flagship, which keeps it from being an easy recommendation for every buyer.

Pros & cons
The 6700 mAh battery is unusually large for this price, and the tested 23h 48m endurance points to genuinely long use between charges. It is the kind of phone that suits heavy users and frequent travellers.
You get a rare triple 50 MP rear setup with ultrawide and 3.5x telephoto coverage, plus 4K60 video. That gives it more flexibility than many phones that lean only on the main camera.
80W wired charging is comfortably fast for daily top-ups, and wireless charging is included too. At this price, having both matters and this phone delivers.
The 6.32-inch body is easier to handle than most large-screen rivals in this range. Buyers who want a premium phone without the usual bulk will appreciate that.
Five years of OS updates is a solid commitment for a premium Android phone. It makes the Reno16 5G easier to keep for the long term than many rivals.
About 1.46 million on AnTuTu is smooth for everyday use, but it is not flagship-class pace for ₹60,000 and above. Buyers focused on heavy gaming or maximum longevity can get more raw power elsewhere.
The AMOLED panel is sharp and smooth at 120 Hz, but 1800 nits brightness is only decent in a class where many rivals push much higher. It does not have the screen advantage some buyers expect at this price.
UFS 3.1 storage keeps the phone responsive, but faster options are available in this bracket. App installs, large game loading and file transfers are not as class-leading as the best rivals.
What owners say
From RedditThe 80W charger is a bit ridiculous compared to what I'm used to, ten minutes while the kettle boiled and I stopped worrying about it. Camera's been good in daylight, not properly tested it at night yet. Fair point on the software updates, that's the one thing I'd still give Samsung. Also had to bin a few preloaded apps in the first ten minutes, which is a bit annoying but took no time.
Oppo reno 16 5g and samsung A57 are good picks but i would lean to Oppo reno because it has way better battery and in Camera i would still edge it to Oppo. Both are 120 HZ AMOLED so stutter wont be an issue. Samsung has better software longevity, but overall i think Oppo reno 16 5g is better.
I don't really know what you mean by 'smartphone that isn't as up-to-date'. Both are new, modern Android smartphones that will work for pretty much any day-to-day task that you could through at it. That said, I wouldn't get either since both honestly just use mediocre hardware for the prices these phones are sold for.
The Reno 16 isn't far off from a regular Find X9, which is better than the Reno in every possible way. Pixels have great software but the already not very good chipset in the Pixel 10 isn't much better than its predecessor
