The ZuPick verdict
The LAVA Shark 5G gets the essentials right for a low-cost 5G phone, especially storage and everyday use. Its HD+ display, basic cameras and entry-level memory setup make it harder to recommend against stronger all-rounders.

Pros & cons
At this price, 5G support is a real advantage for buyers who want faster data and better network longevity without spending much.
UFS 2.2 storage helps apps open quicker and makes installs, updates and general phone use feel smoother than basic storage options.
It scores about 388,000 on AnTuTu, which is enough for calling, messaging, streaming and light gaming without major trouble.
The 5000 mAh battery is a safe one-day setup for most people, and the tested battery life is enough for regular daily use.
Basic splash and dust resistance adds some peace of mind for outdoor use and everyday handling.
The 720x1600 display is noticeably less sharp than Full HD rivals in this price range, especially for reading and video.
The 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP selfie camera are entry-level. Daylight shots are usable, but detail and low-light quality are limited.
4 GB of memory is enough for lighter use, but heavier multitasking and gaming will feel tighter than on 6 GB or 8 GB alternatives.
