The ZuPick verdict

3.3out of 5

ConsiderBest at value, weakest at camera.

The LAVA Virat V1 5G gets the basics right for buyers who want long battery life, 5G and smooth everyday use at a sensible price. Its softer HD+ screen, slow charging and basic cameras make it more practical than exciting.

Based on specs, expert reviews and owner discussions.

Performance3.8

It scores about 515,000 on AnTuTu, which is solid for this price, and 5G support helps it feel current. UFS 2.2 storage keeps everyday use responsive, though 4 GB RAM is only modest for multitasking.

Camera1.8

This is a basic camera setup. The 13 MP main camera and 5 MP selfie camera are best suited to simple daylight photos, while low-light shots and video quality are limited.

Display3.0

The 120 Hz refresh rate keeps scrolling smooth, but the 720x1600 LCD panel is a step down from sharper Full HD options. It looks fine for casual use, though text and video are not as crisp as the better screens at this price.

Battery3.8

Battery life is the standout here. The 6000 mAh cell and tested 21h 27m endurance are excellent for long days, but 10W charging is slow enough to hold the battery experience back.

Value4.0

At ₹12999, it offers strong battery life, 5G and good everyday speed for the money. The weaker display sharpness and basic cameras stop it from feeling like a complete bargain, but the overall package is still competitive.

Pros & cons

What’s good

Very long battery life

The 6000 mAh battery is a real strength, and the tested 21h 27m endurance points to excellent day-to-day stamina. It should comfortably last a full day and often stretch well beyond that.

Smooth 120 Hz display

The 120 Hz screen makes scrolling and app navigation feel smoother than basic 60 Hz rivals. That helps the phone feel more modern in everyday use.

Solid everyday speed

It scores about 515,000 on AnTuTu, which is good for this price. Daily apps, messaging, video and lighter gaming should run smoothly.

5G with UFS 2.2

5G support keeps it current for mobile data, and UFS 2.2 storage helps apps open and install faster than phones with slower storage. That improves the overall feel of the phone.

What’s not

Low-resolution screen

The 720x1600 display is noticeably less sharp than Full HD rivals in this price range. Text and video will look softer, especially on a 6.75-inch panel.

Very slow charging

10W charging is a clear weak point now. The big battery lasts long, but topping it up takes a long time.

Basic cameras only

The 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera are entry-level for this segment. They are fine for simple daylight shots, but detail and low-light results will be limited.

4 GB RAM limit

4 GB RAM is enough for regular use, but it leaves less headroom for heavier multitasking and demanding games. Power users may notice apps refreshing more often.
