Well I am using a Redmi A3 right now because.. it's my only working phone and you said you haven't tried games..tho I am not sure after a year,so if you try something light like a light Roblox game it actually runs it okay-ish.Also battery life is good,it can probably do 6 hours straight of gaming on not laggy games.
typing this in the Redmi A3 a bit too late, but the max you could do for gaming is run the basic Roblox games, CRK or a cheap battleground game. It will crash in most of these too, especially when you use VC along with gaming. Also, most the popular games aren't available to be downloaded on it [Not a location issue, it's a software issue]
I'd avoid it if I were you. Baseline Redmi will get slow after almost 1 year of use. It happened to my Redmi 9A, where it stops getting updates and made the phone slow for basically everything (home screen, maps, regular apps etc). The A3 is basically almost similar phone.
