The ZuPick verdict

3.2out of 5

ConsiderBest at battery, weakest at display.

The realme NARZO 90x 5G gets the basics of battery life, charging and durability right, but it makes big compromises in screen quality and overall speed. It is worth considering only if battery life matters much more to you than display sharpness or performance.

Based on specs, expert reviews and owner discussions.

Performance2.4

This setup is fine for calls, messaging, streaming and lighter apps, but it sits on the weaker side for this price. eMMC storage especially hurts responsiveness compared with phones that use faster storage.

Camera2.5

The 50 MP main camera with OIS should deliver steady daylight shots and better handheld results in lower light than basic cameras. Beyond that, the setup is limited, with only 1080p video and a modest 8 MP front camera.

Display2.3

The 144 Hz refresh rate keeps motion smooth, and brightness is decent for outdoor use. The problem is the 720x1570 LCD panel, which looks clearly less sharp and less vibrant than the Full HD AMOLED screens many rivals offer.

Battery4.8

This is one of the phone's biggest strengths. The 7000 mAh battery is excellent for long use, and 60W charging is fast enough to make such a large cell practical day to day.

Value3.8

The price is attractive for a phone with 5G, a 7000 mAh battery, 60W charging and IP65 protection. Even so, the weak display and modest performance stop it from feeling like a clear value leader.

Pros & cons

What’s good

Huge 7000 mAh battery

The 7000 mAh battery is a real standout in this price range. It is built for very long days of use and can comfortably stretch well beyond a day for lighter users.

Fast 60W charging

60W charging is strong for the money and helps offset the very large battery size. Top-ups are much quicker than the slow charging still seen on some rivals.

144 Hz refresh rate

The 144 Hz screen feels very smooth while scrolling through apps and social feeds. It also helps supported games look more fluid than on standard 120 Hz panels.

IP65 protection

IP65 dust and water resistance adds useful everyday durability. It gives better peace of mind around splashes, dust and rougher daily use.

OIS on main camera

Optical stabilisation is a meaningful camera extra at this price. It helps with steadier photos and improves handheld shooting in dimmer scenes.

What’s not

HD+ LCD display

The 720x1570 LCD screen is a major weakness for this budget. It is noticeably less sharp than Full HD rivals, and many alternatives offer AMOLED panels with better contrast too.

Entry-level performance

With eMMC storage and the base 4 GB variant, day-to-day use is fine but heavier gaming and faster app loading are not this phone's strengths. It is behind stronger performers in this price range.

Basic camera setup

The single rear camera keeps things simple, but there is no ultrawide or telephoto flexibility. The 8 MP front camera is also modest for selfies and video calls.

No NFC support

NFC is still not common everywhere, but it is a useful extra for tap-to-pay and quick pairing. Missing it makes the feature list feel less complete.
