The ZuPick verdict
The realme C53 offers a useful 108 MP camera and dependable battery life at a low price. However, its soft display, entry-level speed, slow charging and 4G-only connectivity make the overall experience less competitive.

Pros & cons
The 108 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and quick autofocus captures detailed daylight photos. It is unusually ambitious for such an affordable phone.
The 5000 mAh battery lasts about 18 hours in testing, making a full day of calls, messaging and browsing comfortable. Lighter users may stretch it further.
The 6 GB RAM option supports everyday multitasking, while expandable storage up to 2 TB provides plenty of room for photos, videos and downloads.
The Unisoc T612 is suited to calls, messaging and light apps rather than demanding games. The lack of 5G and slower eMMC storage also reduce its long-term appeal.
The 720x1600 screen is noticeably less sharp than Full HD alternatives. Its 90 Hz refresh rate adds some smoothness, but 560-nit brightness is merely adequate outdoors.
The 18W charging system takes nearly two hours to refill the battery from 20% to 100%. Faster-charging alternatives are easy to find around this price.
