Want my advice as an actual owner of an Oppo a78 4G? don't buy it. My mom also has the 5G variant and its really bad for its price. Long story of why: Initially it was good, no issues, android 14 rolled in and auto updated, made the camera app unusable (slow/laggy) taking videos was impossible it kept frame skipping and turning the phone into a hot potato.

From RedditFor its price it was pretty decent, you get a snapdragon 680 plus a decent refresh-rate amoled display, and on paper a great camera, decent ram, pretty good storage. It was honestly just perfect for me up until it auto updated about a few months ago. I wasn't looking at heavy gaming or anything, just a casual useable phone with no BS for its price point.
I haven't seen any posts on it yet but I'm having a lot of issues with my OPPO a78, it's been really slow and lagging a lot, it's borderline unusable and I have no idea why. Most apps aren't even opening and the keyboard picks random numbers and letters if I don't type really slowly.
I can't speak for anyone else, but after updating my A78 5G I've had noticeably worse performance across the board. opening any app is coupled with monstrous lag, and it's now impossible to run two things (i.e spotify or youtube in the background with firefox) at once without one or both crashing.
I was honestly on the same boat, I purchased Oppo since my Oppo F5 served me well for like 6+ years until its glue gave out (the screen was basically taped on at this point but was functionally still good). So in my infinite wisdom I decide to buy another oppo phone only for it to crap out within 5 months. This phone is so badly made that I've started hearing creaking on the bottom right part of the phone despite not being dropped; this added to the insult of having us forced to beta test their software.
I bought an oppo a78 last year, i haven't faced this issue yet, I only face this when some half broken earphones are connected, it might be a hardware problem then, try showing it to a phone shop which repairs phones, it might be because of the dust inside the phone holes
too many glitches, the screen occasionally stays blank while the phone is ringing so not only can I not see who's calling, but I can't answer the call. I've missed some really important calls including one offering me a last-minute long-awaited appointment because of this. Of course it doesn't do it when I take it in to be looked at. I have issues with the sound, the camera's pretty ordinary.
I can only speak for oppo a78 4g, it's been 1 year and a half and I would say even though this device is performing good for it's price there are still some devices which are even better in this price range, stead of looking for oppo devices I recommend looking for samsung
