Is the itel A60S worth buying at ₹7,690?

At ₹7,690 the itel A60S is one to skip, scoring 2.5 out of 5 against other phones at this price. It is strongest on battery and weakest on display. That is the lowest we have recorded for it.

The ZuPick verdict

2.5out of 5
SkipBest at performance, weakest at display.

It handles essential phone duties and offers useful storage expansion, but the basic 60 Hz display, weak cameras and modest performance make it difficult to recommend at this price.

Performance3.0
The 4 GB RAM is suitable for basic apps and moderate switching between them. More demanding games and heavy multitasking may stutter.
Camera2.3
The 8 MP rear camera can focus automatically and record 1080p video at 30 frames per second, but photo detail is limited. The 5 MP selfie camera is best for basic video calls and casual shots.
Display1.8
The 6.6-inch LCD uses a basic 60 Hz refresh rate, so scrolling feels less smooth. Its 720x1612 resolution is adequate for everyday reading and video but lacks crispness.
Battery3.0
The 5000 mAh battery provides a practical amount of power for calls, messaging, video and light apps through the day.
Value2.3
At ₹8,943, it sits fairly close to the ₹10,000 limit while offering mostly basic hardware. The battery and expandable storage help, but the screen and cameras reduce its appeal.

Pros & cons

What’s good
Practical battery capacity

The 5000 mAh battery is suitable for a day of calls, messaging and light app use. It is a sensible size for everyday use.

Flexible storage choices

It comes with 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. A memory card can add up to 1 TB for downloaded videos, photos and music.

Useful everyday features

The rear fingerprint reader makes unlocking convenient. Dual SIM support and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are also practical.

What’s not
Slow, basic display

The 60 Hz LCD screen does not look as smooth while scrolling as 90 Hz screens. Its 720x1612 resolution is fine for video and messaging, though text is less crisp than on sharper screens.

Limited camera detail

The 8 MP rear camera is weak for this price and is best kept to simple daylight photos. The 5 MP front camera also produces modest selfie detail.

Modest multitasking ability

The 4 GB RAM is enough for calls, messaging and light apps. Switching between several apps or running heavier games may feel slow.

What owners say

Itel phones are not so good at all and is not a good choice for the user with the poor hardware system and the under average battery life. The itel A60s seems to be not a good choice with its price segment.

I bought my Mother itel A60s 128GB variant around 24000. When we first bought, there were some stutters, but now, after some system updates, it is smooth. There are some bugs, but it is to be expected as you can also find them on high-end brands, too.
